This Year's Festival Honors the Amazing Mini!

This all day street festival features sports car events, a Concours d'Elegance, live music, a food court, wine tastings, family activities, fireworks, and a reenactment of the Grand Prix races of yesteryear.

SVRA Watkins Glen Grand Prix Race Reenactment
and SVRA Watkins Glen Race Heritage Tour
Purpose:
 
A non-competitive tour of the original 6.6 mile circuit designed to recreate the ambiance of the 1948-52 Watkins Glen street races.
Date: Friday, September 6, 2002
Location:
 
The original 6.6 mile circuit, with the Start/Finish line in front of the Schuyler County Court House.
Eligibility:
 
The event is open to selected SVRA race cars participating in the Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix.
Cost: None
Prizes: None
To Enter: Arranged through the SVRA, or by special invitation.
Distance: 2 Laps of the 6.6 mile course.

Racing up at the track will continue all day Saturday and Sunday!

Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix
The Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix roars back to life on its traditional September weekend with two spectacular features - the IMSA GTP and Mini Cooper. Watch as the original IMSA GTP cars, including the famous Nissans, Toyotas, Jaguars, and Porsches, gather at The Glen to defend their title as the fastest cars to ever race on the 3.4-mile road course. Then join the celebration as The Glen welcomes a reunion of the legendary Mini Cooper, Britain's favorite fun car.

 
So get up and get out this weekend! Enjoy the last of summer!
