The members of the
SYRACUSE CORVETTE CLUB
would like to THANK Jon and Barb Smith for a
Septemberfest to beat all Septemberfests!
The blow out party was held September 14th in the Smith's "back Forty!"
Despite the rain which many felt helped make the party more intimate, it was a HUGE HUGE success!
Barb reported 105 in attendance! Quite a few Corvettes given the weather (we don't have just waxers and shiners apparently!)
The amount of food was unbelievable. Smoked Turkey, Roast Beef, Chicken Wings, appetizers, salads, beer, soda and new this year, a WINE BAR!
Every thing was cooked to perfection. More than enough to fed everyone twice!
The live entertainment was throughly enjoyed by all.
When a few rain drops tried to put a damper on the bonfire, everyone just moved in under all the tents, and moved the tables out, formed a circle with their chairs and had a great sing along with the musician! What fun they all had!
Name a song....he played it. Now mind you, I don't think any record deals will be a result of the SCC Choir, but gosh...they sure sounded GOOD!
It was a fabulous party and if you weren't able to make it, you really missed a great time. Make it a date for next year cause rumor has it that it is all set to go again!!
Septemberfest 2003--a celebration of the Corvette turning 50!
The rain let up for most of the day and many were able to take walks in the woods on the trails, some played horseshoes, others fed the fish. If you get the chance, ask Julie Edmunds how she got muddy up to her knees! I believe there was all an intense Volleyball game going on also! Kids of all ages enjoyed the teepees. Great conversations and bonds were made through out the day and night!
Now sit back and relax. Enjoy the photos, courtesy of Jerry Boak!!
