The Syracuse Corvette Club had a STRONG showing at the mecca of all Corvette Shows....CARLISLE!
The club members gathered at the grandstand on Saturday to have a group shot done. Finding the space was hard, Richard Petty was signing autographs at the same time! We asked him to join us but he was sort of tied up !
Missing from Photo ( probably off looking at the cars! ) :
Ernie Wheeler, Mark Scwalm, Jerry Boak,
(Wait...aren't these boys part of the lost boy's crew? Could they be lost???...) ,
Dave & Elaine Boull, MaryLou Johnson ,
Bill Crews, Jeff Bernatovich, Noryne Dybas and Dennis Russo.
The trip down was un-eventful. 5 Cars caravaned down from the b'ville diner and stopped for a rest only to have 3 Corvettes from Canada ask if they can ride along! The crew from last year was shown a very "speedy" way to their hotel ! Lost boy leader Ron Gaglioti was not able to make the trip, his wife Katie fell the night before and injured herself. ( Please see "FYI" page)
The weekend was almost perfect in weather, a few showers appeared but nothing to put a damper on any of the fun, and partying! The sun was shining most of the time and the heat was tolerated! Cold beer and wine helped the situation!
Some members took in Hershey PA, while others shopped in Carisle and Hershey. Another couple spent a day at Gettsburg! The Boull's rode in the Corvette Parade on Saturday night. Many activities were enjoyed and we all look forward to attending again next year!
Oatmeal wrestling at the Holiday Inn West on Saturday night was interesting to say the least! |
